Team Lead at Entelect

Duane has been a software developer for 10 years working in various fields.

Duane started in Machine to machine communications at Siemens, writing embedded j2me software as well as the corresponding j2ee server code.

Duane then worked at a startup developing an electrical smart grid system aimed at preventing load shedding. His main responsibility was a handheld device used for field installations (.net compact framework), but he helped out on the Java server side as well. Duane also dipped his toes into some embedded C++.

Duane now works at Entelect Software as a Team Lead. He is currently based at Ashburton Investments but previously worked on various projects in various industries including medical aid, debt consolidation and imports.

Duane has a real passion for web development, particularly front end JavaScript applications. Duane also attempts to blog at www.continuousdeveloper.com, where he talks mainly about CI and Continuous delivery, though he has fallen a bit behind lately.

Duane loves to share his knowledge with other developers and is always keen to learn something new. Duane has previously presented internal training forums within Entelect as well as at internal DevDay conferences.

On a personal note, Duane is married and has a 1 year old daughter who keeps him very busy when he is not in the office.
